According to an article published by Edutopia (click here for original article), 80% of the fastest growing occupations in the US depend on mastery of math and science skills. The 2009 Program for International Student Assessment shows that US students are woefully unprepared. The US ranked 24th in math and 17th in science. (Rankings are even worse in this CNN article.)
Our students are in need of strong study in math, science and especially STEM.
